A couple of weeks ago, among several perfect birthday gifts I received a little package wrapped in twine and a Nova Scotia map. My lovely wife had been planning this gift for a month and would tell me nothing. Inside were several travel magazines bookmarked with tickets to the Celtic Colours Festival in Sydney, NS. We were going to Cape Breton!

My birthday trip, complete with maps and a car

Over the next couple days I am going to try to share some of the adventures we had and the autumn photography we took. Here is a map so that you can all get your bearings on where we were going:

Cape Breton is a large Island at the northern-eastern-most tip of Nova Scotia, hilly, wrapped with cliffs and jam-packed with Scottish and French-Acadian tradition (food, faith, fiddles). Read up past and present Cape Breton here.
