Wedding Gifts

“Brown paper packages tied up with string. These are a few of my favorite things!”

Back in April, Brendon and I received our first wedding gift stamped from Lebanon! Ellen, my dear high-school friend, was way ahead of the game and sent us a beautiful package of an image of Our Lady (a favourite there), and a home-scent kit with oils from native flowers and spices. Now that we have a place to call home, it’s time to display them! Thank you, Ellen, for the thoughtful gift and most of all your love and prayers! Your card nearly made me cry!

Ellen's gift from Lebanon!

Our second brown paper package surprised us at our new address last Friday! A box from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We scampered inside as fast as we could and forbade each other from opening it until we were both ready (after a bathroom break and putting away groceries we just bought). Finally, we cut open the tape and unwrapped a beautifully wrapped gift. We shook it around a bit and have our guesses but we’re waiting to open it. To be honest, we’re not quite sure what etiquette calls for when it comes to opening wedding gifts. Please advise! πŸ™‚

Thank you to the Alarcon Family (Paul, Claire & Baby Atticus)!!! We miss you guys!

Each gift we receive reminds us of what will happen in 11 days (AHHHH!!!!) and hits that reality home just a tab bit harder. After storing the gift away safely on top of our fridge, we just stood there holding each other in excitement and in awe…we’re really getting married!

Thank you again Ellen, Paul, Claire, and Atticus! You are in our hearts as we inch closer to the big day and know you will be with us in spirit! Love you and miss you!

xoxo
