I start every day with a huge mug of coffee. It’s a habit I’ve found to be essential after six months long-distance dating – crossing one continent, involving two countries, three thousand miles, and four time zones. You see, every night as head meets pillow I imagine my true love working away at the love note that will be the first of the emails to greet me the next day. I get one every day. So does she. Hers are always passionate notes, bursting with the romantic sentiment and devotion I love her so much for, as well as new (more expensive) wedding ideas and home-making projects. It needs coffee. This morning’s coffee was large. The love note was extra long. She (we) was to do some good ‘ol fashin’ bloggin’.
One day of WordPress blogging platform and themes downloads, 1and1.com domain registrations, uploads, downloads, helpful tutorials and troubleshootings and less helpful long waits, 23 bucks, 1 mug of tea, a bag of Mr. Noodles (an MSG miracle in the world of Canadian ramen), a can of tomato soup and a very good nap (for Maria) later, here you have it: www.citygirlislandboy.com. Maria is a trooper and (thank the Almighty!) exceptionally tech-friendly, so she will be directing this circus with the collaboration of her main (engaged) clown.
So this will be us sharing the memories that have already begun to arise from our intercontinental love story.ย Enjoy!
– Brendon
