Chapter Three!

A Photo Is Worth A Thousand Words

So without further ado, here are eight thousand and some words:

[ON AUDREY] Kate Spade: Double Bow Dress (birthday gift from her Eemo, Angie) // Sweet Valentina: Gold Baby Crown Headband //

It’s not that I’ve tried to be secretive, but somehow, rather unintentionally, we’ve already entered into the start of the third trimester and I am just now sharing that baby #3 is on the way! SURPRISE! Our family is growing once more, and our littlest one is due in mid to late March 2018. There’s no way I can hide this belly anymore even if I wanted to.

Absolute Rosy: Accordion Pleated Skirt Satin Evening Dress //  My Saint My Hero: The Greatest Love Deuteronomy 6:5 Bangle (Vermeil Rose Gold) // LOFT: Earrings & Gem Studded Bracelet (old but lots of options on sale now) //

Surprise!

In all honesty, this pregnancy is a surprise for us, too. We had been sharing a home with family, squeezed into a single bedroom, and even after a year since moving out here to Los Angeles, it was taking us time to settle in. We hadn’t considered growing our family quite yet, and we were just beginning to enjoy being out of the “baby phase,” blessed as were with two toddlers who were finally enjoying each others’ company and (mostly) sleeping through the night. Obviously God had other plans…

It’s not that NFP failed us. For our past 6 years of marriage, NFP has worked beautifully for us in both achieving and avoiding pregnancy while keeping intimacy alive. It’s obvious, however, that we haven’t quite perfected it (turns out times of stress really throws my cycle off). Perhaps it’s been a blessing in disguise – God seems to have used these moments to perfectly time our children, even if we’re not part of the planning process. This said, I’m definitely going to get some training in the Marquette Method. I’d love to hear some thoughts and words of advice from anyone already using this method! So this tiny person growing inside of me has set into motion a lot of BIG changes for our family, both interior and exterior. I’ll expound more in another post.

Family Photoshoot

Aren’t these photos precious? I’ve been wanting some new family photos for a while, so when we found out about the pregnancy, I knew it would be a great way to make this announcement. Well… that was about 3 months ago… moving, medical appointments, illnesses, and life’s busy-ness, compounded by fatigue and nausea, postponed our family photoshoot until last week. I’m sometimes stubborn to a fault, and didn’t give up on the idea. Good things do come to those who wait, and we are so thrilled we got to work with Madi Myers-Cook to have her capture these moments. She has such a beautiful soul and I really admire how she sees her mission as a photographer as capturing each soul the way God the Father sees them. Wow, right?

I can’t stop looking these photos over again and again with a silly grin on my face. I love my family so much. How blessed am I?! I’ll plan to share more of them here in the following posts, so stay tuned!

How is my baby girl not my littlest anymore? Kids grow up way too crazy fast!
